Audio for Visual Media
Stephen Cressman, a fellow peer and good friend of mine first discussed his film early in the Spring 2025 semester as a project for a class of his: Directing for Narrative Film. He had the great idea to explore how we can so easily overlook how we treat each other, and I was excited when he asked me to assist him as a boom operator for the short film, using Cedarville University’s Zoom H4n recorder.

BLACKOUT
Directed by Megan Frieling
Here is a short clip from one of my first short film projects where I assisted with audio. I acted as both audio recordist and boom operator, using my Zoom H6 recorder and Cedarville University’s Sennheiser MKH 416. The project was not only fun to be a part of, but also allowed me to both grow in my experience and grow my passion for working audio!
The Emperor’s New Groove - ADR Project
For one of our classes, Digital Audio Post Production, one of our assignments was to re-sound design and ADR a 4-5 minute clip from an animated film. This was my group’s take on a classic scene from Disney’s The Emperor’s New Groove!
Cedarville University Voice Studio Promo
In Cedarville University’s Video Production class, I took on the solo project of putting together an interview/promo video highlighting the voice studio at Cedarville. This involved all aspects of pre-production to post-production, including asking the questions, filming the interview and b-roll, and editing the video and audio. This is the final result!
